What is LA SOM?

LASOM(Al Foam) as a new material which is particularly foamed after dissolving aluminum is composed of independent porous air cells and each cell is constructed with thin films. Owing to unique structure like this, Al foam has Various characteristics.

There are principal characteristics such as ultra lightweight,superb sound absorption, incombustibility,corrosion resistance, durability, etc.

Fantastic material which can be utilized in various fields like sound absorption& sound proof material,building interior&exterior finish, and ncombustible finish. Even though AL Foam has superiority as mentioned, it is not yet actualized with difficulty in the technical and economical aspect. Lately We got over barrier and finally produce on a large scale.

Characteristics

1. Ultra lightness:
   Gravity is only 0.2~0.4 g/cm³ It is 1/10 of Aluminum,1/3 of tree and 1/30 of Iron.
2. Sound absorption:
   Superior sound absorbing effect with sponge like structure. Especially it has the most superior sound absorbing effect in the previous frequency band. (NRC:0.74)
3. Non-flammable material.
   It does not burn, melt or transforms.It does not fall into pieces even when it is heated in 750°C. It is Non-flammable material of which there is no danger of generating toxic gas when fire breaks out.
4. Electromagnetic wave shielding
   It blocks the electromagnetic waves. It substitutes the shield panel maintaining the blockage function of electromagnetic waves over 90dB with thin layer.
5. Manufacturability & Easy to construction
   Cutting, pleating, gluing can be easily done with the simple saw. Cutting, drilling and bending processing is also convenient. Gluing can be done with the adhesives too. It is processed in the same way as the general wood.
6. Aesthetic and interior effect
   Creates the aesthetic effect which is well harmonized with the any material. By setting the mood with the various finishing material, it can be well matched with any place.
7. Heat resistance
   Although it is a metal, it is superior in heat-resistance. As it is structured as independent blow hole, it is very lower in thermal conductivity.
8. Non toxic & Polluted
   No pollutant or non-toxic substances are generated from it and also there are no dirt, odor and arsenic acids.
9. Durability
   Different from the semi-permanent inorganic or sponge like foundation material, it is metallic and superior in durability, firmness and pollutant-resistance.
   
10. Moisture resistance
    It can resist to the moisture well. Different from the general material which is susceptible to the moisture, you can even clean it with the water.
11. Recyclable
    It is 100% recyclable and since it can be manufactured with the exhausted Aluminum we can contribute to the preservation of the environment.
